Is this real leather?
Yes — full-grain leather, the top layer of the hide with the natural surface intact. Variations in grain and tone are the material, not a defect.
How do I care for it?
Wipe with a dry cloth, keep it out of prolonged sun, and let it dry at room temperature if it gets wet. A neutral balm once or twice a year keeps it supple.
Will it scratch?
It will pick up marks — that is what full-grain does. Most light scratches rub out with a fingertip, and the rest become the patina that makes the piece yours.
