This page explains what cookies saintnorda.com uses, what each kind does, and how to change your mind. It sits alongside our privacy policy.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. Some are essential for the site to function — without them a shopping cart cannot remember what you put in it. Others exist to measure how the site is used or to make advertising more relevant.

We also use closely related technologies such as pixels, local storage and device fingerprinting signals. Everything below applies to those too.

The four kinds we use

1. Strictly necessary

These make the store work. They remember your cart, keep you signed in, secure the checkout and protect against fraud. They cannot be switched off, because without them there is no store.

Examples: Shopify's cart, _secure_session_id and _shopify_m cookies.

2. Functional

These remember choices you have made, such as recently viewed products or whether you have dismissed a banner. Switching them off will not break the store, but some things will feel less convenient.

3. Analytics

These tell us how many people visit, which pages they read, where they leave, and which devices they use. We use Google Analytics and Shopify's own analytics for this. It is how we find out that, for example, a size guide is not being opened.

We only set these with your consent.

4. Marketing

These let us measure whether our advertising works and show relevant advertisements on other platforms. We use the Meta pixel and Meta's Conversions API for Facebook and Instagram advertising.

When you consent, a limited set of events — page views, add-to-cart, checkout started, purchase — is shared with Meta. Where an identifier such as your email address is included, it is hashed before it leaves our systems, so Meta receives an irreversible fingerprint rather than the address itself.

We only set these with your consent.

Changing your choices

You choose when you first arrive, and you can change your mind at any time through the Cookie settings link in our footer. Your choice is stored for 12 months, after which we ask again.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing that for strictly necessary cookies will stop checkout from working.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We honour the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends one, we treat it as an opt-out of analytics and marketing cookies, and as a request to opt out of the sharing of personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

Third parties

Cookies set by Shopify, Google and Meta are governed by their own policies as well as ours. We have no control over how those companies use data once it reaches them, which is exactly why we ask for your consent before letting them set anything.
